CYBERBULLYING!!!
What is Cyber-bullying?

Cyber-bullying
happens in electronic technology. It occurs in various manners. The main
purpose is to harm. Some examples include sending offensive text messages,
spreading a rumor using electronic technology, disclosing humiliating pictures
or videos of others. Cyber-bullying is basically, using electronic technology, to
pollute the reputation of others and make them feel demotivated. It can be
identified by repeated behavior. Since cyber-bullying can be done anonymously,
it’s not always easy for the victims to trace the source. This type of bullying occurs mainly to children and any one be a victim.
Effects of Cyber-bullying.
Cyber-bullied
people feel the impact even when they are alone and this can lead to other
problems. Children who are
cyber-bullied usually end up skipping school to avoid the public, and those who
don’t end up getting poor grades. Other children can even be driven to alcohol
and substance abuse as a resort to run away from the real world. Ultimately,
cyber-bullying may lead to death. A recent incident includes the suicide of the
young Megan Meier.
How to prevent Cyber-bullying?
More people
need to be educated about it because sometimes the perpetrators act without
knowing the damage they are causing. Children also need to be encouraged to
talk to their parents or guardian or anyone they feel they can trust as soon as
they detect or feel bullied. Avoid opening messages from people you don’t know as
they could contain viruses that steal passwords and personal information. Specific
laws indicating penalties for cyber-bullying need to be implemented to monitor
and control it.

As a
parent, finding out that your child is a bully is not pleasant discovery. You
should therefore make it your responsibility to help them change after noticing
the early warnings. Study shows that children who harass others need help by
encouraging and guiding them to a more positive behavior. You can adopt some
strategies to help your child improve. Some strategies include discussing the
consequences of treating others badly. The consequence might be the child
losing something they enjoy. Praise them every time they act well, like
apologizing after being rude.
